In celebration of the Museum’s first anniversary and the opening of the major exhibit, Building Bacardi: Architecture, Art and Identity, the Coral Gables Museum presented a party to remember at the Biltmore Hotel with Honorary Chairman Emilio Estefan. In the attendance were also Coral Gables Mayor James Cason; Coral Gables Commissioners Ralph Cabrera, Frank Quesada, William Kerdyk and Maria Anderson; Event Chair Marie Vacca and Museum Chairman Arva Moore Parks. Guests took a step back in time and place and experience the music, dance and ambience of the legendary Tropicana night club, featuring a Bacardi bar, the Son Tres Trio, cigar señoritas and a variety of tasty tapas. Followed by sumptuous tropical Cuban dinner in the lively and elegant Country Club Ballroom transformed into the Tropicana night club, where The New Century Dance Company performed a dazzling night club floor show, and dancing the night away to the Carlos Oliva Band. All proceeds to benefit the Coral Gables Museum.
