Art Asia MiamiDecember 4 – 9, 110 NE 36 Street, Miami Midtown

Art Asia Miami is a highly selective showcase of galleries from around the world that focuses on the best of established and emerging contemporary artists from throughout Asia. Founded in 2008, Art Asia has hosted fairs in Miami and Basel, and become the leading forum for international galleries, curators, artists, collectors, and educators to exchange ideas and experience work from across the entire Asian Diaspora. In 2011, it attracted over 30,000 visitors and VIP guests all through its six-day run. For the first time in its five year history, Art Asia 2012 will be presenting a special section dedicated to contemporary art from the South Asian subcontinent. New York based curator, Jasmine Wahi, has been selected to curate an exhibition that specifically explores some of the fantastic work coming out of the region and its far-reaching diasporic communities. Salaam Bombay: Beauty and Chaos within the Urban will also be presented in Each/One, a new digital exhibition platform to be launched in December, which provides curators, galleries, and art fairs a new venue to exhibit cohesive shows.
