The Thai-focused Asian concept from John Kunkel & the 50 Eggs Restaurant Group (Yardbird and Lime) opens in the former Miss Yip’s space on Lincoln Rd. Khong River House developed an authentic food and beverage program, with Thai chef Piyarat Potha Arreeratn aka Chef Bee (Oishi Thai, Nobu) at the helm who’s working with a local Thai farm to get the crops needed for the menu. Khong draws its name from the Mekhong River, which runs through Southeast Asia and connects parts of China, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Khong will be open for dinner from 5:30p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30p.m. to 2a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Lunch and brunch will soon follow a few weeks after the opening.
