Secure your seats today for the can’t miss John Cage festival of the year, “Making the Right Choices“,Â including events highlighting the 50-year collaboration between John Cage and choreographer Merce Cunningham.Â This three-day festival honoring John Cage promises to be the worldâ€™s most programmatically ambitious and theatrical celebration of the composerâ€™s legacy to occur during the centennial season of his birth. NWS Fellows will collaborate with some of todayâ€™s most renowned artists, exploring 26 of Cageâ€™s rarely-performed works for large orchestra and ensembles of varying sizes.Â Programmed and curated by the New World Symphonyâ€™s artistic director Michael Tilson Thomas, Making the Right Choices: A John Cage Centennial Celebration will offer a grand, theatrically immersive expression of Cageâ€™s works, utilizing the full advantage of the spectacular staging, lighting and projection possibilities in the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center like never before.Â Throughout the concerts and festival activities, audiences will enjoy videos, still images, projections of live and replayed performances, recordings of Cage reciting his own writings, exhibits, panel discussions and more, each serving to connect audiences to the performers and Cageâ€™s vision in unique ways.Â Tickets to each performance begin at $30.
