22nd Annual Hab-a-Hearts Luncheon

22nd Annual Hab-a-Hearts LuncheonMonday, February 11, 11:00AM - Mar-a-Lago, 1100 S. Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach

In 1986, Rita Nabhan and Shirley Brenner invited their friends from the city of Atlantis to a coffee in order to acquaint them with the needs of the men and women served at Palm Beach Habilitation Center. Their intend was to secure volunteers for the programs at the Center, but their efforts led to the creation of the Hab-a-Hearts Auxiliary and an annual event that has contributed significant financial assistance to the Center’s programs and encouraged countless people to advocate for the meaningful and dignified future for each person served. This 22nd annual event, chaired by Donna Brown and Sherry Szczublewski, includes complimentary hab-a-tinis and a wine reception as guests bid on over 300 silent auction items. During lunch, guests will be entertained with a small live auction and informal modeling by Salon Margrit of Palm Beach. Proceeds of the event will be used for the Food Service Employment Training Program, which prepares men and women with disabilities to secure and maintain employment in the local food service industry. Tickets are $225 each are available by calling Mary Dunning, Director of Development, at 561-965-8500, ext. 212 or e-mail mdunning@pbhab.com.
