Ferllen Winery, the premiere wine making brand from Mendoza, Argentina, has joined forces with The Amigos Near Foundation (a 501 (c) (3) organization) to launch the Ferllen Winery Special Edition Art Series 2013 with a silent auction fundraiser gala on Saturday, February 16th. The event will also present the official launch of the foundation and will honor Alejandro Ferllen’s birthday. Proceeds will be allocated to Marie’s Village Orphanage to help equip the orphanage with school infrastructure, supplies, nursing wards, medical tools as well as basic household commodities for poverty stricken children in Haiti that are still suffering from the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake.
The two-part event will take place at the sophisticated Paramount Bay residential tower designed by Kravitz Design Inc. by Lenny Kravitz and Arquitectonica in Downtown Miami. Guests will enjoy an open bar sponsored by Karlsson’s Gold Vodka, Leblon, Aguardiente Cristal, Ron Viejo de Caldas Redbull, Pisco 100 as well as passed hors d’oeuvres by Novecento Midtown. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience an exclusive sommelier wine tasting presented by Certified Sommelier and Adjunct Professor at FIU Christine Najac from southfloridafoodandwine.com, and live entertainment by Hot Jam. For tickets, there is a suggested donation of $50 per person with 100% of funds going to the Amigos Near Foundation for their philanthropic efforts in Haiti.
The event will also showcase the launch of Ferllen Winery’s Special Edition Art Series 2013 label design and wine production to the market that has been specially created by contemporary Argentine artist, Pablo Contrisciani. The artwork, exclusively for Ferllen Winery, is a colorful vibration that flirts between the elements of color and shape. The original piece will available for sale during the event to benefit the charity. Produced once a year, the first series of Ferllen Winery’s Special Art Edition is a blend of 50% Malbec and 50% Cabernet vintage 2009 from Valle de Uco and carefully crafted by enologist Mr. Chavero in Mendoza, Argentina.
