Tobacco Road, Miami’s Oldest Bar will be bringing in 15,000 Pounds of Tomatoes for Miami’s 2nd Annual Festival of Tossing. No need to travel to Spain for La Tomatina Tomato Fight Festival; Miami’s Oldest Bar, Tobacco Road is bringing it to Brickell again! On Saturday, February, 23rd festivities will begin with registration at 12pm with food & drink specials, and dump truck delivery 25,000 tomatoes ripe for flying through the air. For those less brave or unwilling to get sauced, a safety zone will be set up for spectators to enjoy all the action. Last year brought out over 1,200 guests, with almost 900 participating in the smash & bash! Every year since 1957 1,000’s of people join together in Bunol, Spain to participate in the traditional La Tomatina festival. Around 150,000 tomatoes, which equals out to be over 90,000 pounds are smashed and participants from all over the world begin this crazy traditional Tomato fight that lasts an hour long. Cost for participants is $20 and spectators are FREE!
