The Humane Society of Greater Miami invites you and your four-legged BFF to their 2020 Walk for the Animals on February 29th, leap day! This year’s 21st annual event will be at a new location, Maurice A. Ferré, and will gather more than 3,000 of Miami’s most passionate animal-lovers and their dogs. The goal: to bring friends, families, companies and clubs together for a howling good time to help raise much-needed funds to benefit the homeless dogs and cats of Miami.
At the Walk for the Animals, going the extra mile to support our furry friends is literally a “walk in the park!” Starting at 8:30AM, people and doggies of all ages will enjoy a morning filled with entertainment, including a scenic walk featuring gorgeous ocean and city views, exciting raffles with awesome prizes, free games, the seriously amusing “Look-Alike” and “Best Kisser” people and doggie contests, food and refreshments. Adding to the excitement of the day on stage this year are returning event emcees: CBS4 New Anchor, Lauren Pastrana, and 102.7 The Beach Morning Host, Kenny Walker.
Don’t forget to bring your pet by the Lucky Dogs Lure Course, where he or she will become an instant track star in the exciting agility course. Don’t have a furry best friend yet? No problem! The Walk for the Animals will have an Adoption Arena with dogs and cats from local rescue groups looking for their forever families. Participating rescues include: Art 2 Save Lives, Coastal Boxer Rescue, Rescue Paws 4 Furry Hearts, Rescue Rocks, Saving Sage Animal Rescue and Save the Strays Foundation. And you will not want to miss the jaw-dropping performance by the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team. Prepare to be amazed by this talented group of pups who will stun you with incredible tricks!
