2013 Be A Kid Again Gala "We're On a Mission"Saturday, April 6, 6:30pm – Miami Children’s Museum, 980 MacArthur Causeway, Watson Island, Miami

Miami Children’s Museum’s Be A Kid Again Gala featured exceptional live entertainment, luxurious auctions and a culinary experience unlike any other. Premier Sponsors for the event were Alan Potamkin and Brigett Rok and the Fairholme Foundation. Presenting Sponsors were Jeff and Yolanda Berkowitz, Coastal Construction Group and the Miami Marlins/David Samson.

The event was chaired by Mike and Chris Weinberg. The Weinberg’s have known each other since grade school and began dating after college. Each of their three children attended MCM when they were younger, and Chris and Mike have a commitment to the museum even though their children are older.

This year’s theme, the Blues Brothers’ ‘We’re on a Mission’ celebrated exceptional educational programming of MCM and showcased a far out live auction hosted by popular celebrities Dave Barry and Paul Castronovo. Guests felt like kids again from the moment they entered the Museum. The night kicked off with a cocktail reception inside the Museum’s galleries filled with an extensive silent auction, featuring a wine section with exclusive lots from all over the world.

The main event live auction featured items that included a portrait by Romero Britto, an automotive lease from the Collection and Limited edition Girard-Perregaux, iconic FOReverglades luxury timepiece from their new Hawk collection. Guests grooved the night away to a spectacular multimedia stage production by Jake and Elwood Blues Revue, the complete Blues Brothers tribute. Completing the dynamic Blues Brothers-themed extravaganza was a taste tempting array of treats that bring to life all the iconic Chicagoland locations from the movie.
