What was the United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival is now VeritageMiami, a four days of sipping, tasting, toasting and benefiting United Way of Miami-Dade, which supports programs in the community that are focused on improving the education, financial stability and health of Miami-Dade residents. Headlining this year’s festivities were two Michelin-star chefs: Daniel Boulud, widely considered to be one of America’s leading culinary authorities, and Davide Brovelli of the family-owned Relais & Chateaux property on Italy’s Lake Maggiore.
A restored 1940s Naval Air hangar was the stage for VeritageMiami’s final event, the Auction and Wine Dinner, presented by American Airlines, Orion Jet Center and Wine Spectator. Guests took a step back in time and enjoyed a post World War II celebration, complete with vintage fighter planes, military vehicles and period cars.
The evening started with a Pommery Champagne reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The dinner took a completely different twist and featured the very modern cuisine of Chef Davide Brovelli of Il Sole di Ranco who prepared a four-course Italian feast. Throughout the evening, guests also enjoyed stunning auction, entertainment and award-winning wines from the Best in Glass Wine Challenge.
