Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center will host the Wild and Scenic Film Festival & Gala, the inaugural fundraiser to celebrate the Center’s educational programming about the importance of preservation and conservation of our natural environment. During 2012 the Biscayne Nature Center had over 30,000 people attend its daily programs. Proceeds from the gala event and the Wild & Scenic Film Festival will provide free programming to inner-city under-served children in our community. The Festival’s theme this year is A Climate of Change where films, art and workshops will be offered on the subject of climate change, highlighting the change makers who are helping rethink how we inhabit our planet. The weekend of festivities begins with the gala event on Saturday from sunset to midnight where you will get a sneak peek at the award-winning films, as well as music, dancing, food and spirits and a silent auction. Tickets are $125 till April 1st and thereafter $150 and include entrance to the film festival. Tickets to the film festival only are $25 and $50 after April 1st. For more info contact 305-361-6767, ext. 114.
