Feeding South FloridaÂ joined forces with the legendary Joeâ€™s Stone Crab restaurant in Miami Beach to present the nonprofit organizationâ€™s inaugural â€œGet Crackinâ€™â€ private brunch. Feeding South Floridaâ€™s mission is to end hunger by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading advocacy efforts in hunger and poverty, and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.
The unique event supported the mission of Feeding South Florida, while honoring some of its most vehement supporters:Â Â Honoree and local celebrity Chef Allen Susser, Media Hero Honoree – The Miami HeraldÂ and Corporate Citizenship Honoree – Southern Wine & Spirits.Â Feeding South Florida CEO Paco VÃ©lez and â€œGet Crackinâ€™â€ Chair/Feeding South Florida Board of Directors Chair Diana Brooks presented honorees with awards to recognize their devotion to providing a brighter future and new hope for the nearly 1 million children, seniors and families that Feeding South Florida serves in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties.
Over 300 attendees gathered at Joeâ€™s Stone Crab, to celebrate the honorees and enjoy the famously delicious Joeâ€™s cuisine. The brunch kick off with one hourÂ Â reception, followed by brunch thatÂ featured scrumptious main course selections including stone crab claws, salmon, steak, and chicken; plus Joeâ€™s delectable signature sides: coleslaw, spinach and hash browns. Guests alsoÂ enjoyedÂ Mimosa, champagne, and red and white wines.
