Miami-based breakout artist and sculptor Alexander Mijares will debut his latest collection of works, and co-headliner Tori Kelly will serenade the crowd with an acoustic performance. An “accidental artist” of almost two years now, Mijares has quickly has quickly emerged as one of South Florida’s most vibrant and promising talents. Using his city and heritage’s colorful energy as his source of inspiration, he has even garnered the attention of celebrities LeBron James, Lance Bass, Wilmer Valderrama, Reggie Bush, Seattle Seahawks’ Sidney Rice, golfer Dustin Johnson and Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, to name a few (select pictures below) – with his colorful and spirited works. Also of interest is that he sells most of his works (from $3,000 to $18,000) via social media within hours of posting them. Now at 15,000 followers on Instagram, Mijares averages 1,000 new followers a month. In addition to esteemed collaborations with international artists Pez, Desire.Obtain.Cherish and Kenor, Mijares has headlined high profile events during Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Wynwood and ART Santa Fe, as well as participated in prestigious exhibitions in NYC’s Times Square and the Hamptons, to name a few.
