The American Cancer Society hosted the 2013 Centennial Gala at the Trump Doral Golf Resort and Spa. More than eight-hundred influential leaders within Miami’s social and corporate communities gathered for a night of elegance, exquisite food, and live entertainment to celebrate 100 years of progress in the fight against cancer. The cocktail reception, silent auction and red-carpet started at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing at 8:30 p.m.
Chairpersons for this year’s gala fundraiser were Pedro and Madeleine Munilla with Co-Chairs Michael and Teresita Haskett, and Felipe and Lourdes Valls served as Honorary Chairs. Carnival Cruise Lines was recognized as the night’s Honoree for their dedication to the fight against cancer and their philanthropic partnership with the American Cancer Society Dade Unit.
During the live auction, attendees were challenged to raise money to help “Finish the Fight.” Together with million of supporters, the American Cancer Society saves lives and creates more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.
