In 1994 underground cartoonist Mike Diana (b.1969) became the first artist to receive a criminal conviction for obscenity for artwork in the U.S. Diana will return to Florida for the first time in 15 years for an illustrated talk at Miami Art Museum, reflecting on his experiences both prior, during and after the conviction. Following the talk, Miami-based quartet Baby B Strings will debut their original arrangement of one of Modest Mussorgsky’s most famous works Pictures at an Exhibition. Baby B Strings is comprised of Belinda Ho, violin; Tony Seepersad, violin; Vivian Torres, viola; and Pilar Suter, cello, with Oscar Bustillo conducting. Admission is $8; MAM members are free.
