Join MOCA‘s educators, scolars and activists for an intensive three-day conference on the Museum’s acclaimed Women on the Rise! program and innovative approaches to education and empowerment for young women. Designed for anyone who works with girls and young women, this three-day seminar of hands-on workshops, performances, panel discussions and film screenings will address issues such as access to healthy foods in low-income neighborhoods, body image, girlsâ€™ health and sexuality, and gender non-conformity. The Second Annual Girlâ€™s Summit will run continuously from 10 a.m. to :3:30 p.m. with evening programs from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Miami-Dade County educators may earn Teacher-in-Service credit. The Girls Summit is presented by the Museum of Contemporary Artâ€™s MOCA Art Institute and is co-sponsored by The Girlsâ€™ Club Collection, Fort Lauderdale. Admission for the three-day summit is $30 for all three days or $10 per day. Students with ID are admitted free of charge.
