FLASHBACK: Miami 1980s Presented by MDC Museum of Art + DesignFriday, June 7, 6pm – Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Blvd., Miami

FLASHBACK: Miami 1980s is a multi-media art project/exhibition conceived by freelance photographer, Alexia Fodere in collaboration with The Miami Herald veteran photographers, Donna Natale Planas and Charles Trainor, Jr. Inspired by Fodere’s interest in the lifestyle and culture of Miami in the 1980’s, FLASHBACK is a strategically curated exhibition placing archived still images inset into vintage television sets. Featuring over 15 works, the exhibition exemplifies a testament to the final era of film photography, prior to the dramatic shift in technology with the advent of digital processing, and a new way of seeing through the lens. Sponsored by: Miami City Social, Bartenura Moscato, Capriccio on the River, Brugal Rum.  Panel Discussion: Thursday, July 11, 2013. 7 p.m. Museum hours: Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 pm. Admission is free and tours are available.
