Dining & Nightlife In the Spotlight Miami-Dade County Tasting Event

Miami New Times 6th Annual Iron Fork

Miami New Times 2013 Iron ForkThursday, August 1, 7pm-10pm – Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Downtown Miami

Miami New Times’ Iron Fork is Miami’s most hotly anticipated culinary event with four hours of eating and drinking from the stations of over 45 of South Florida’s luxury and fine-dining restaurants. This year they partnered with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to kick off two months of discounted three-course meals at Miami’s best restaurants during Miami Spice.

2013 Iron Fork attracted thousands of diners and food lovers from across South Florida. Culinary connoisseur Jamie DeRosa, from the classically modern South Beach restaurant Tongue & Cheek, competed against Food Network’s Chopped champion and Eating House chef and partner, Giorgio Rapicavoli. Each chef was supplied with a basket of groceries provided by Whole Foods Market, plus one secret ingredient, and challenged to create a mouthwatering dish within an hour. Their tantalizing creations were judged by Timon Balloo, 2011 Iron Fork winner and chef at Sugar Cane Raw Bar Grill, and Daniel Serfer, current reigning Iron Fork champion and chef-owner at Blue Collar. The winner of this year prestigious Iron Fork Award was Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House.

Norwegian Cruise Line sponsored exclusive VIP Stage Lounge, featuring performances by seven-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway Musical Legally Blonde VIPs wined and dined – including complimentary Spirits by Bacardi, Beer by Stella Artois, and Wine by Wines of Chile - directly on the stage of the Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall while enjoying food and entertainment inspired by Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Norwegian Getaway, the largest ship to home-port in Miami beginning this February.
