Poko Pano Revives the History of Brazil on the Runway

Poko Pano Revives the History of Brazil on the RunwayFriday, July 19, 7pm – OASIS at The Raleigh Hotel, 1775 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

Poko Pano is an internationally recognized swimwear brand created by celebrated designer Paola Robba and best known for its sexy styles and playful prints. Based in Brazil, Poko Pano made its 6th debut during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami on Friday, July 19, 2013.

For its Summer 2014 collection, Poko Pano pays homage to its birthplace and showcases designs inspired by the myths, legends and beliefs of Brazil. This year’s show time was selected to take advantage of the sunset-painted sky reflecting natural light off of the sand to create a Rio-like ambience for when the models walked the runway in her signature vibrant colored swimwear, paired with sultry make-up by Smashbox Cosmetics and hair by Brian C. Hawkins.

Poko Pano emulates the country’s coveted tropical climate through soft pastels and warm tones of turquoise, lilac, burnt orange and cranberry. Prints are woven through the designs and act as a narrative around South America’s most symbolic beings from Saint George – the Patron Saint of Portugal and Bumba Meu Boi – a mythical bull, to the lands most respected animals such as penguins and jaguars. Select looks are also complimented by creative embellishments such as gold-plated hardware on bikini tops and bottoms as well as handmade, eco-friendly beads created by a small community in Brazil that utilizes local materials to produce unique designs and colors.

All forty-five looks included the highest quality Lycra and styled to fit sunbathing beauties that prefer a smaller cut and to highlight the body’s most favored assets – details desired by the brands celebrity followers including Beyonce, LeAnn Rimes, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson, Angie Harmon and more. From classic one-pieces to flirty bikinis offered as a halter, triangle top or structured bandeau, Poko Pano introduces beach-ready apparel such as free-flowing kaftans and relaxed, light-weight pants, to be worn alone or as a part of your chic pool-side ensemble.
