The festival starts on Friday with Gourmet Ice Cream Pairing Dinner at Bella Lago from 6pm-10pm. Costing $100 per person, plus tax and gratuity, the four-course dinner is for adults only and features cuisine prepared by PGA Nationalâ€™s Chef Donald Young and Todd Sicolo and Todd Owen, both from Asheville’s Grove Park Inn.
On Saturday there’s a full roster of family fun, including Brain Freeze, face-freezing ice cream eating contests at the Wave Poolside Bar & Grill with Wild 95.5 FM playing all the hits from 11am-1pm. Whole Foodsâ€™ Big Taste ice cream bazaar with e-voting for â€œYummiest Ice Cream Flavorâ€ from 2pm-4pm, offering unlimited sampling for $20 per person. Sock Hop BBQÂ at the Palm Terrace with live entertainment from 4pm-8pm for $19.58 per person,Â Dance the night away to 50â€™s and 60â€™s tunes of the live band while sipping on sodas from the old fashioned ice cream soda fountain.Â Golf Kart Drive-in Movie in The Fazio RangeÂ at 9pm, $10Â gets you one golf cart, popcorn, soda and a movie.
On Sunday from 1:30pm-4pm in the PGA Ballroom will be the Lukeâ€™s Ice Cream Sweet Sundae Fun Day. The cost is $35 per family and includes a sundae building kit (two adults / two children, proof required). The event features family friendly vendors, face painting, bounce houses and an attempt to win the Guinness Book of World Records title for the â€œWorldâ€™s Longest Ice Cream Sundaeâ€ of more than 1,200 ft.
