The Ice Cream Festival Weekend at PGA National Resort will offer fun activities for the entire family with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital.

The festival starts on Friday with Gourmet Ice Cream Pairing Dinner at Bella Lago from 6pm-10pm. Costing $100 per person, plus tax and gratuity, the four-course dinner is for adults only and features cuisine prepared by PGA National’s Chef Donald Young and Todd Sicolo and Todd Owen, both from Asheville’s Grove Park Inn.

On Saturday there’s a full roster of family fun, including Brain Freeze, face-freezing ice cream eating contests at the Wave Poolside Bar & Grill with Wild 95.5 FM playing all the hits from 11am-1pm. Whole Foods’ Big Taste ice cream bazaar with e-voting for “Yummiest Ice Cream Flavor” from 2pm-4pm, offering unlimited sampling for $20 per person. Sock Hop BBQ at the Palm Terrace with live entertainment from 4pm-8pm for $19.58 per person, Dance the night away to 50’s and 60’s tunes of the live band while sipping on sodas from the old fashioned ice cream soda fountain. Golf Kart Drive-in Movie in The Fazio Range at 9pm, $10 gets you one golf cart, popcorn, soda and a movie.

On Sunday from 1:30pm-4pm in the PGA Ballroom will be the Luke’s Ice Cream Sweet Sundae Fun Day. The cost is $35 per family and includes a sundae building kit (two adults / two children, proof required). The event features family friendly vendors, face painting, bounce houses and an attempt to win the Guinness Book of World Records title for the “World’s Longest Ice Cream Sundae” of more than 1,200 ft.
