Miami Lighthouse for the Blind to Play Beep Baseball at Marlins Ballpark

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind to Play Beep Baseball at Marlins BallparkWednesday, October 2, 10am - Marlins Ballpark, 501 Marlins Way, Miami

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired will take part in the Annual Marlins Ayudan Intern Event at Marlins Park, as the Miami Marlins 2013 front office intern class will host Miami Lighthouse program participants for the Beep Baseball Classic. Beep Baseball is an adaptive version of America’s favorite pastime for the blind, visually impaired and legally blind. A beeping ball and beeping bases will allow the participants to hit the ball, field the ball and run the bases. The event will feature three hours of simultaneous Beep Baseball games and an opportunity for Miami Lighthouse program participants to play on the diamond at Marlins Park. Twenty Miami Lighthouse program participants will experience playing on the field of a major league ballpark that will be not only educational, but it will also reinforce Miami Lighthouse’s teachings—it’s possible to see without sight™. Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a Charity Partner of the Miami Marlins.
