In honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness month in October, M.U.J.E.R. is having its The Catwalk of Courage fundraising event. The Catwalk of Courage is a fashion show in which the models of the show are survivors who have been helped by M.U.J.E.R. (including men, women and children). They will be pampered for the evening in celebration of their courage. Eleven survivors will be featured models at M.U.J.E.R.’s first annual Catwalk of Courage. They will briefly share their stories of courage through video testimonials prior to their walk down the runway. The female models will be styled by Alma Mei, an online fashion boutique founded in Miami, Florida that donates ten percent of all sale proceeds to a different charity each quarter. The Alma Mei team seeks to connect and engage with their communities in Miami’s booming fashion scene and establishing lasting relationships with non-profits around the country. Men’s clothing will be styled by OFY Men’s Boutique located in the Mary Brickell Village. Tickets are $70 and includes an open bar by Bacardi, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction. M.U.J.E.R. is a 501(c)3 which helps victims of sexual and domestic violence in Homestead.
