The Salvation Army in Broward County has been helping people restore, rehabilitate and redesign their lives since 1926. As a way to bring attention to their work and raise additional funds for helping homeless families, they have created the Red Shield ReDesign Bash. The third annual event will take place October 30, 2015 with guest host, Carter Oosterhouse of HGTV fame.
The Salvation Army will recruit talented ReDesigners from the community who will shop thrift stores, yard sales or grandma’s attic to find a “design challenged†piece of furniture in need of help. Before the event, they will restore, redesign, rehabilitate or repurpose the piece. The redesigners will donate the piece to The Salvation Army to be judged by our celebrity guest host. Pieces will be auctioned during the event, with proceeds going to support The Salvation Army’s new Open Door Project. @SalArmyBroward
