The Friends of Birch State Park presents its 5th Annual Howling Hammock Adventure this Halloween season October 18-19, 2013.  A haunting event for children and adults, this year’s “spooktacular” adventure offers a scary “nite hike” along the park’s Howling Hammock trail, a 2 mile carriage ride with creepy and fun surprises,  live animal presentations, games, and trick-or-treating.  The younger children can visit the Pumpkin Patch located at the GardenCenter where they will get to make Halloween crafts and have their picture taken with the ghost of Hugh Taylor Birch! The Howling Hammock Adventure is an exciting way to come out and enjoy Fort Lauderdale’s state park in the evening, located just off of A1A and Sunrise Boulevard.  The sprawling hammock trees and dark (maybe even haunted) trails are the perfect setting to put you in the Halloween mood.  Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children (children 5 and under are free.)  The event runs 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.  Free parking is available at The Galleria Mall’s north parking lot (near Red Door Spa.)  Transportation from the Mall to Birch State Park will be provided. Parking is not available at Birch State Park.
