Debut of Royal Princess with Captain Stubing from the "The Love Boat"Sunday, October 27, 1pm – Port Everglades, 1850 Eller Drive, Fort Lauderdale

Gavin MacLeod, Captain Stubing of “The Love Boat”, was in town to welcome the Royal Princess to the United States for the first time. The Royal Princess is the latest ship to set sail by Princess Cruises and holds 3,560 passengers, in 1780 staterooms and all outside staterooms have balconies. Her Godmother is the Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. The ship has innovative SeaWalk®, a top-deck, glass-bottom walkway which extends more than 28 feet above water, on one side of the ship and a Sea Bar of the other side and provides a dramatic view of the sea 128 ft below. The pool has dancing fountains and private cabanas. The ship also has an industry first ever – a dedicated pastry shop. The ship has a live TV shows, another first for the cruise-line industry and other demonstrations for passengers. The ship has a dramatic atrium , the hub for shopping and eating and planning your vacation. It just finished the European ports and will be in the Caribbean for the winter before returning to Europe for next summer cruises.

MacLeod was accompanied by 15 local “princesses” who assisted “The Captain” in officially welcoming the ship to shore. Gavin MacLeod, Captain Stubing from the Love Boat, is incredible proud of his family especially, his 10 grandchildren. He has been the brand partner of Royal Princess for over 27 years, both the cruise line and Gavin MacLeod are happy with the partnership. He takes pride in the cruise lines 17 ships. Cruising has come a long way since he started on the Love Boat. At that time, the cruise line had 2 ships. The show brought to many viewers a great way to travel. He loves Venice, Italy and Tahiti, both are beautiful water cities. He is interested in continuing his traveling and showing his family the world. There are more ports of call, he wants to visit. He believes that cruising is part of our lives and works to continue promoting travel and Royal Princess.
