Johanna Boccardo Temporary Installation

Johanna Boccardo Temporary InstallationDecember 2 – 8, 9am – Building 74 NW 28th Street, Miami Wynwood Arts District

Odabashian, the international custom hand made rug company founded in 1921, is relocating it’s flagship rug gallery to Wynwood in 2014. Odabashian collaborates with designers and artists to develop original rug designs for luxury hotels and residences across the world and is supplier to hotels such as The Delano and The Setai. As part of the celebration of entry into the neighborhood, it has commissioned a temporary art installation by Wynwood-based artist and collaborator: Johanna Boccardo, at the existing residential building during Art Basel Week 2013. This art installation is based on “Tapebombing”: a type of street art pioneered by Boccardo and proudly developed in the Wynwood neighborhood during Art Basel 2012. Boccardo has been a Wynwood resident since 2011 and her work can be seen across several public areas and buildings in the neighborhood. The location of the the building is at 74 NW 28th Street, 30 yards west of Pride and Joy. The installation will be on view starting the weekend preceding the Art Fairs and will conclude Sunday December 8.
