Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) welcomed 5,000 guests to the museum’s annual Miami Art Week celebration featuring a performance by multimedia art collaborative LOS JAICHACKERS. PAMM director Thom Collins kicked off the celebration with a special Ruinart toast to the artists whose work is presented in the museum’s opening exhibitions. Guests of the Maserati VIP Lounge observed the festivities from the third-floor terrace, while thousands of Art Miami, Design Miami and Art Basel Miami Beach VIPs, museum members and invited guests danced on the veranda, explored the galleries, and enjoyed the breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay from the Museum’s expansive terraces.
LOS JAICHACKERS’ performance, titled Night Shade/Solanaceae, included: two new videos in the museum’s auditorium; an ice sculpture which melted throughout the evening to reveal mysterious packages and strange, exotic night fruits; and enlisted the musical talents of TOTAL FREEDOM (Los Angeles), DJ LENGUA (Los Angeles) and Los Master Plus (Guadalajara, Mexico).
