2014 Be A Voice, Empower Brilliant Futures Gala

2014 Be A Voice, Empower Brilliant Futures GalaSaturday, February 15, 7pm-11pm – Mandarin Oriental, 500 Brickell Key Drive, Miami Brickell

Voices For Children Foundation hosted its 2014 Be A Voice, Empower Brilliant Futures Gala, presented by The House of Harry Winston, which also supports the foundation with its Hope Collection bracelet and charm. Honorary Gala co-chairs are Voices board members Christian and Brittany Slater, and Jim Ferraro and Alena Gavrikova. Each year the Be A Voice Gala welcomes 500 of Miami’s most philanthropic and influential community leaders and dedicated business professionals who come together to stand up for Miami-Dade’s abused, abandoned and neglected children. The evening included sumptuous dinner, entertainment by DJ Kucha and a moving testimonial demonstrating the importance and impact of Voices For Children Foundation and the Guardian ad Litem Program.

Voices For Children raises funds so that every abused or neglected child in Miami-Dade County has a court-appointed Guardian ad-Litem to care for them, provide financial assistance and be available for each child’s health, social and educational needs. Voices For Children serves as an advocate for those children who can’t speak for themselves. Guardians ad Litem are trained, court-appointed adults who serve as their representative voices in dependency court proceedings. Currently, 3,145 children are in Miami-Dade County’s Foster Care system and 1,257 children are unrepresented by Guardians ad Litem.
