Spartan Race Miami 2014April 12 & 13, 8am - Oleta River State Park, 3400 NE 163rd Street, North Miami

Seven extreme athletes and one Royal Marine banded together to design Florida Super Spartan Race’s intense course, an approximately 8-mile trek bolstered by more than 20 obstacles that test resilience, stamina, and strength. Clad in event T-shirts, runners are smeared in smudges and stains as they slide unscathed under barbed wire and juke feral linebackers. Upon crossing the finish line, victors are awarded a participation medal, and the top three male and female runners each qualify for free entry to the next race-level up. Combatants can refuel with warm, savory food (available for purchase) as a DJ spins catchy tunes. Participants 21 and over will receive one free beer to celebrate their race completion. Waves of 200 racers depart every 15 minutes thereafter. Participants will be challenged with a number of obstacles, which might include climbing walls and ropes, barbed wire, or mud. All racers receive a finisher’s medal and a T-shirt. Though the race takes place at Oleta River State Park, all participants must check in at Florida International University, where there will be complimentary parking and a $5 shuttle to take them to the course. #spartanrace
