Orchestra MiamiÂ continues its series of Free Outdoor Concerts, with three performances of â€œBeethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titansâ€. These concerts are presented as a gift to the community, completely free of charge. The concerts are co-sponsored by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the City of Miami Beach and Atlantic Broadband.Â â€œBeethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titansâ€ features works by Rossini, Mendelssohn and Beethoven, conducted by Orchestra Miamiâ€™s Artistic Director, Elaine Rinaldi. This yearâ€™s concert begins with the light-hearted Overture to La Scala di Seta by Gioacchino Rossini, followed by the unforgettable Concerto for Violin in E Minor, Op. 64 by Felix Mendelssohn, featuring Orchestra Miamiâ€™s Concert Master, Mei Mei Luo, as the soloist. The concert ends with Beethovenâ€™s joyous Symphony N. 2 in D Major, Op. 36.Â Bleacher seating available, but you may also bring your own lawnchair. Concessions available (all proceeds go to support Orchestra Miami) or bring a picnic. Municipal parking available in the lot on the west side of Collins Avenue between 72nd & 73rd streets (free after 6 PM). Childrenâ€™s activities available prior to the concert.
